Americus, GA - Four jailed over meth lab raid
Published February 16th, 2008 in Meth in the News. 0 CommentsA new DEA report shows that methamphetamine labs in the US are declining, mostly as a result of federal and state restrictions on the sale of cold medicines used as ingredients. They also acknowledge that the bulk of meth used in the US is now imported from Mexico.

Methed Up - How I got off crystal meth and found joy in living
The Billings Gazette has an interesting article on the potential for use of alpha wave stimulators in treating meth addiction and other issues. The article indicates that the units can be purchased for several hundred dollars, but require a prescription, and operate by attaching electrodes to the earlobes and directing radio waves directly through the water of the brain.

The title they chose for the article is “Honesty is meth suspect’s undoing,” but I’m not so sure that’s true. Honesty might have made the arrest go more smoothly and might help at sentencing time. Nevada ready to try anti-meth bill again
Published May 28th, 2007 in Meth in the News and Legislation. 0 CommentsThe measure that failed last week limited sales of meth ingredients, made buyers sign a log book, and charged a fee for convenience stores to sell and log the stuff. The new “common sense” bill says screw it, convenience stores can’t sell it at all. Pharmacies only, log all sales, and no fee for participation. Betcha a dollar it passes this time.
