DEA Statistics Show US Meth Labs Declining

A new DEA report shows that methamphetamine labs in the US are declining, mostly as a result of federal and state restrictions on the sale of cold medicines used as ingredients. They also acknowledge that the bulk of meth used in the US is now imported from Mexico.

Another bright shining example of American jobs being outsourced!

NIDA Study says 2.8% of young adults used meth in 2002

Apparently 2002 is the latest year for which data is available. Apparently it takes the NIDA over four years to process the answers to surveys and get data out of them. Maybe they’re part of the 2.8%.

Ernie Vickers, 43, was busted in Southport for manufacture of methamphetamine as well as several other drug-related charges.

Gainesville, GA - Woman arrested with meth, scales, ledger

Kathie Ann Kline, 50, of Lawrenceville, GA was arrested with $200 worth of meth, two sets of scales and a ledger during the course of a drug investigation.

Houston, TX - (not so) Rolling Meth Lab bust

Police in Houston busted what the call a rolling meth lab. KHOU has the story, although there aren’t much more details. Except that the so-called rolling meth lab was in a salvage yard for 12 days. So I guess it wasn’t rolling for long.

Napa Valley, CA - Meth dealer arrested

Police arrested Manuel Baez Arriaga in Napa Valley on suspicion of drug dealing. Arriaga had 60 doses worth in his possession at the time of his arrest. Nap a Valley Register.

Gaston, SC - “Red P” lab busted in suburbs

Police busted a meth lab and arrested three people (Scott Phillip Hill, 30, David Carl Johnson, 42, and Gilbert Otto Johnson, 46) in Gaston.

Brain Wave Therapy for Meth Addicts?

The Billings Gazette has an interesting article on the potential for use of alpha wave stimulators in treating meth addiction and other issues. The article indicates that the units can be purchased for several hundred dollars, but require a prescription, and operate by attaching electrodes to the earlobes and directing radio waves directly through the water of the brain.
